Jean Madigan Recognized for Excellence in Educational Kinesiology
Drawing on 28 years of experience, Jean B. Madigan provides a comprehensive portfolio of educational services
MURPHY, TX, July 1, 2011 /High School PR News/ -- Jean Blaydes Madigan, Owner of Action Based Learning, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in educational kinesiology.
After working as a classroom and physical education teacher for many years, Ms. Madigan attended a conference that permanently changed her perspective on learning. At the 1996 seminar, she recalls, a neuroscientist spoke about the effects of movement on cognition and improved learning. Just one year later, Ms. Madigan created Action Based Learning, a consulting and educational services company largely based on the principles of his theory. Today, she is considered to be an expert in the field of brain-based kinesthetic instruction, and strives to inform educators about the importance of movement in learning.
This year will mark Ms. Madigan's 13th at the helm of Action Based Learning, in cooperation with Cindy Hess. Together, the two have developed the nationally acclaimed Action Based Learning "LAB," which has been featured on ABC's "Good Morning America." In fact, Action Based Learning provides a comprehensive portfolio of services, including development program curricula, along with books and CDs. Dedicated to nurturing one child at a time, Ms. Madigan will continue to emphasize the direct correlation between physical exercise and educational success and well-being as she moves forward.
As a certified master presenter and a graduate of East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University-Commerce) with a master of education in kinesiology, Ms. Madigan is well-positioned to lead Action Based Learning. She is a proud member of several professional organizations, including PE4life, the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, the National Association for Sport and Physical Education, and the ASCD. Recognized in 2010 by Cambridge Who's Who as a Professional of the Year in educational kinesiology, Ms. Madigan intends to continue her work and "focus on one little heart and one young brain at a time."
