Volunteers From Goldman Sachs Visit Treloars Disabled School

Nineteen workers from the London office of the global organisation visited the College on 1st July to transform the entrance to the site into a feast of greenery.

HAMPSHIRE, ENGLAND, July 27, 2011 /High School PR News/ -- Project Leader, Nic Hobbs, admitted spending the day gardening was a far cry from his usual tasks as a Project Manager in the Technology Division at Goldman Sachs.

He explained: "Goldman Sachs employees spend a day every year doing some sort of community based project."

"The people here today from Goldman Sachs work in various different areas of the firm; there are people from the banking side, as well as Technology and Operations."

Living locally, Nic was familiar with Treloar's, but admitted it was his first time he had visited the College.

He added: "Employees are really keen to sign up to the Community Teamworks initiative and it's great to be doing something positive. I think I am going to wake up tomorrow and ache - something which usually doesn't happen after a day in the office!"

Treloar's Trust and Corporate Fundraising Manger, Sophie Davies, said: "It was great to see the enthusiasm displayed by the volunteers from Goldman Sachs. Everyone was keen to get involved and didn't seem to mind getting muddy! The difference to the College entrance from the road is remarkable, it looks really welcoming and they have done a great job."

Treloar's School and College provides education, care and therapy for more than 250 young people with complex disabilities and learning difficulties, from the UK and overseas.
