Jonetta M. Russell Named to Exclusive Membership Organization
Jonetta M. Russell taught approximately 80 students for the last 11 years in the magnet program
ROCKVILLE, MD, March 1, 2010 /High School PR News/ -- Jonetta M. Russell, Retired Biology Teacher at Montgomery County Public Schools, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.
With 44 years of professional experience in Pennsylvania and Maryland, Mrs. Russell attributes her success to spiritual guidance, education curricula and personal relationships. Her mother, a retired school teacher, and her husband, a retired biochemical researcher, inspired her during her profession.
She was responsible for being a College Board consultant, biology advanced placement test grader, overseeing research programs and assisting students with their research proposals. Her students were placed in research facilities such as the National Institutes of Health, the National Institute of Science and Technology and the University of Maryland.
Mrs. Russell earned a Master of Science in Biology in 1970 from American University, Washington, DC. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois. She has a master's equivalent in education from Pennsylvania State University. In the state of Pennsylvania she has a permanent certificate to teach upper elementary classes, biology and chemistry. In Maryland she has an advanced professional certificate for biology.
She has membership in the National Science Teacher's Association and Delta Kappa Gamma. She was on the executive board of the Montgomery County Science Fair Association. The U.S. Army gave her an award for her affiliation with the fair.
