LEWISBURG, WV, October 07, 2010 /High School PR News/ -- Dr. Tate Mason Brewster Hudson, retired Teacher from Wooster City School District, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in secondary education.
Dr. Tate Mason Brewster Hudson enjoyed a fruitful 29 years in the academe. She concluded her career at Wooster City School District, where she specialized in secondary education. A veteran teacher, she taught ninth-grade English, humanities and literature and implemented heterogeneous grouping within the curriculum. Dr. Hudson earlier taught seventh- and eighth-grade English at Edgewood Junior High School, where she worked for 16 years prior to joining Wooster High School. Honored with the Golden Apple Award, she attributes her success and longevity to the support that she received from her husband.
Motivated by a lifelong passion for teaching, Dr. Hudson earned a Ph.D. in secondary education in 1983 from The University of Akron, and a master of arts in teaching English in 1972 and a bachelor of arts in English in 1966 from The College of Wooster. She is a current member of the Virginia chapter, and a former member of the UA chapter, of Phi Delta Kappa. A direct descendant of eight Mayflower passengers, Dr. Hudson is also affiliated with The Mayflower Society and The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America. She has delivered a presentation before the American Educational Research Association and several presentations before the National Council of Teachers of English.
Now officially in retirement, Dr. Hudson spends her time volunteering as an elder and clerk for the Session of Old Stone Presbyterian Church in Lewisburg, W.V.
