Scot Wilson Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
Scot Wilson noted for leadership at Close Up, a nonprofit educational organization
ALEXANDRIA, VA, June 9, 2009 /High School PR News/ -- Scot Wilson, Program Leader for Close Up, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of curriculum development.
Mr. Wilson brings four years of experience to Close Up, a nonprofit educational organization. An expert in program and curriculum development, he is responsible for overseeing program and curriculum design, and writing lesson plans and tailoring programs according to current events. Mr. Wilson also brings high school and middle school students on trips to Washington, DC to attend various workshops and be exposed to civic and democratic processes. He joined Close Up because his father, who was a high school teacher, brought his own students there; from a young age, he had been impressed by the organization's programs and began his career there as an instructor, working his way up to his current position. Mr. Wilson finds deep personal fulfillment in teaching young people the skills they need for active citizenship, and attributes his success to his curiosity, adaptability and openness to new things.
A graduate of the George Washington University, Mr. Wilson received his Bachelor of Arts in History in 2005. Honors of which he is a recipient include a peer-awarded Shirley Willis Award in 2007 and a Recognition of Excellence for test scores in literature, language and writing from the Educational Testing Service in 2005. In his spare time, he volunteers with local environmental organizations. Mr. Wilson plans to continue his education and venture into educational policy.
