Barbara A. Evans Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry
Ms. Evans is a guest speaker at the University of Maryland where she conducts several presentations on foreign languages.
DANVILLE, VA, October 8, 2008 /High School PR News/ -- Barbara A. Evans, Foreign Language Teacher at Danville Public Schools, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of teaching foreign languages.
Ms. Evans has 34 years of professional experience and is responsible for teaching foreign languages including Spanish and French for ninth through 12th grade students and mentoring teachers. She implements cooperative learning techniques in educating students and improving their academic skills. Her desire to teach prompted her to become involved in her profession and she considers the support she receives from her parents, passion for her profession and her determination to be the driving forces behind her success.
A product of the University of Maryland, Ms. Evans received her Master of Arts in Intercultural Communication in 1994 and a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language Education with a major in Spanish in 1974. She is a member of The American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, the National Education Association and the Virginia Education Association. Ms. Evans also works as a tutor at the Youth Detention Center and is a guest speaker at the University of Maryland where she conducts several presentations on foreign languages. Her goal for the future is to teach foreign language at the college level.
