/High School PR News/ - Kinston, NC, August 17, 2008, Geraldyne Baker McCray, Coordinator at Kinston High School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of education administration.
Ms. McCray boasts more than 45 years of experience in education. As Coordinator at Kinston High School, she is responsible for overseeing and gathering data on students' attendance, maintaining records, coordinating meetings, facilitating workshops, mentoring, generating reports on students' progress, conducting remedial programs in reading and mathematics, assisting the principal, supervising staff, and interacting with parents. She attributes her success to her academic preparation, dedication, and flexibility.
Previously, Ms. McCray worked as a consultant at the English Bureau of the New York State Education Department and an adjunct professor of English for Syracuse University; served as English Department Chair for 15 years and as Performing Arts Program Coordinator for 13 years, both at Ossining High School in Ossining, NY; and taught English language arts at Kinston (NC) High School for 10 years. She earned her Master of Arts in English language arts from the City College of the City University of New York and her Bachelor of Arts in drama from Howard University. She once served as the president of the New York State English Council and as the national second vice-president of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She looks forward to continuing to help youth and plans to increase her involvement in community service.
